The reason I put together this review/ guide is to help you make the most of Jaaxy, and maybe even take your online business to the next level. Enjoy!
Keyword research is crucial to any website’s growth.
Well, I learnt this the hard way. In 2015, I publsihed a post called “108 Experts Give Advice to New Bloggers” that went viral. That single post has generated me over 690 shares to date.
Not only was it shared by the big names industry such as SEMrush and John Morrow…
The reason is I didn’t bother targeting any keywords at first. And the second mistake was to optimize for “blogging tips”, which is a far too competitive keyword with top results from industry leaders like Jeff Goins, Buffer and Smart Passive Income.
If you learn just one thing out of this post, don’t be me. Do your keyword research correctly and your future self will thank you a ton. And it goes without saying that you will need a good keyword research tool.
That’s where Jaaxy comes in.
I’ve been using Jaaxy for several months, and thought I’d write a review based on my research and personal experience to help you make the most out of it.
First of all, to find out whether this is worth your time, we need to need to know what exactly does Jaaxy do. Then we’ll look at every aspects that defines this product such as
What is Jaaxy?
Jaaxy is a low-competitive keyword research tool, created by online entrepreneurs Kyle (on the right) and Carson (on the left), dedicated to help users find the best long-tail keywords to target and rank for on search engines.
For starters, long-tail keywords is a fancy way to refer to phrases that people type into search engines that are 3 words or more. The longer the phrase, the more specific the information you are looking for.
As you may know, the search demand for long-tails takes up to over 70% of all search traffic.
Here are some examples of long-tail keywords:
“how to lose weight with apple”
“how to lose weight with apple cider vinegar”
“how to lose weight with apple cider vinegar and green tea”
Jaaxy is my go to when it comes to a research platform whether it is for my keyword research or management.
But… isn’t SEO only for huge sites?
Short answer, no.
If you are trying to rank YourBrandNewSite.com for competitive search terms like “lose weight” or “how to loose weight” that has over 290 Quoted Search Results (a Jaaxy metric that counts the number of exact match results on search engines), prepare to be disapointed.
Fortunately, language is a powerful thing with endless opportunities. In other words, there is an infinite amount of untapped keywords (or unanswered questions, if you will) out there, that we type into search engines everyday.
“How to lose weight with apple cider vinegar” is a good example.
Look at the second result, this keyword only has 38 exact match in the entire world while up to 56 people are searching for it every month.
The beauty of low-competitive keyword research is that you find unsolved problems, and solve them.

A must-read before using Jaaxy
Now that you’ve made up your mind, let’s get down and dirty with the technicals stuffs. Below I will show you how to use Jaaxy to find keywords that ranks and converts with real-life examples and case studies.
Before we start, here are some things you need to know.
I’ve heard hypes just as much as you do, whether it’s promises from Bob that I will make “$1,000 in one month”, or threats from my mother that I will get skin cancer if I don’t apply sun cream (okay, she may have a point).
I hate them, and believe it’s healthier to teach from a realistic and down-to-earth foundation. Here are what you won’t be able to do with Jaaxy but may think you could:
- Rank for highly competitive keywords. Jaaxy never told me how to rank for “blogging tips”, and it probably won’t tell you either. It’s a secret! Joking aside, you will need a more robust search engines ranking analysis like Long Tail Pro for that.
- Teach you to building a lucrative online business. There are some lessons about keyword research on Jaaxy, but it’s ultimately a tool, not a course. If you want to launch a successful site, I recommend Wealthy Affiliate.
- You can rank only with Jaaxy. Jaaxy is a keyword tool. You will be able to find low competitive, highly profitable keywords with it, but in order to rank you need to create helpful content for your audience.
- Jaaxy will help me rank instantly! Everyone who does keyword research knows that not all their posts will rank, and it may take up to 3 to 6 months for Google to pick you up. Be patient.
How to rank on Google with Jaaxy
The best part about keyword research with Jaaxy is that it’s extremely simple. In fact, you only need to follow four simple steps
- Sign up for Jaaxy
- Create a list of potential keywords
- Check keywords competition
- Filter the best keywords
Below I will walk you through the entire process, one click at a time.
Are you ready?
Step 1. Sign up for Jaaxy
To start — go to Jaaxy (this link opens in a new window so you can reference the guide as you work).
The greatest part is that you can try Jaaxy for free for up to 30 searches, so it’s a no brainer to follow along. Click the green Join Jaaxy Today! button on the right hand-side to create an account.
Now you will be asked to choose a plan from Free, to Pro, to Enterprise.
Click on the orange Sign up button under the free plan since you can always upgrade later. Then on the next page, enter your full name, email address and password.
Make sure that you use a working email address since this is where your login information will be sent. Click the green Create My Trial Account button.
You will automatically be directed into the Jaaxy keyword research tool.
Step 2. Create a list of potential keywords
Before using Jaaxy, we need to find keywords to start our research. Open a new sheet in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Then make a list like this one:

You can either:
- Determine a topic you’d like to do research on. Remember, there must be products to recommend,
- Or follow along with my odd niche choice of male yoga pants.
Now open to Google in a new tab.
Unbeknownst to most of us, Google has an awesome keyword tool right at your disposition. It’s called Google Suggestion or Alphabet Soup Technique in the SEO world.
This technique is very straightforward, you type in your original keyword with any combination of letters and Google Suggestion will give you a dozen most popular extensions for that keywords.
Your goal is to find low-competitive, long-tail keywords.
Then go ahead and enter a broad product name into the Google search bar.
We’ll give “male yoga pants” a try.
The first thing I noticed is that buyers don’t usually refer to the terms male yoga pants, but use men’s yoga pants. So I will try again with “men yoga pants”.
In fraction of a second, we’ve found a gold mine of potential keywords. There are some brand related keywords as well as location and descriptive ones. To me, they all seem like decent, low-competitive keywords. This is largely due to the fact that our niche of men’s yoga pants is already quite narrow.
Among these keywords, the best ones are
- mens yoga pants natural cotton
- mens yoga pants amazon
- mens white yoga pants
- mens yoga pants target
They have a strong commercial intent and quite easy to write content around so I’ll copy and paste all of them into my Excel sheet.
Play with Google Suggestion for 10 minutes and you will have a basket full of potential keywords to target! Once you are satisfied with your keywords list, let’s use Jaaxy to check their ranking potentials.
Step 3. Check keywords competition with Jaaxy
By default, you are on the Search and Keyword tab, and this is where the magic happens.
Paste your keywords from Excel on the search bar and click the blue Find Keywords button. I will start with “mens white yoga pants”. Soon enough Jaaxy will come back with a table of data like this one:
To explain Jaaxy’s metrics, we’ll analyse our “mens white yoga pants” keyword:
Avg 24 – This basically means that there are 24 searches for “men’s yoga pants tall” per month.
Traffic 5 – This is a rough estimation for the traffic you will get if you rank on the first page. (You’ll usually receive more traffic if you rank, though.)
QSR 22 – QSR stands for Quoted Search Results, this means there are only 22 pages in the entire world that matches our keyword. That’s a what we call low-competition!
Green KQI – Keyword Quality Indicator visually indicates whether a keyword is easy to rank or not based on its’ SEO metric (like the green light system, yellow is okay and red is poor).
SEO 100 – The SEO metric indicates on a scale from 1 – 100 your potential of ranking on search engines. 100 means extremely likely!
To sum up, “mens white yoga pants” is a very easy keyword to rank for once you publish some good content and optimize for it. While it only has 24 searches per month, the commercial intent behind it is strong enough to worth a go.
That said, you can find better keywords with 50 – 200 searches per month if you dig a little deeper. The key is to look at the QSR metric, always aim for keywords with a QSR that’s lower than 100.
Step 4. Filter the best keywords
Now that you’ve known the super secret technique to rank for low competitive keywords on Google, use up all those 30 searches and fill in your Excel sheet with the search volume and QSR.
I like to simple erase the bad keywords, and highlight the ones I am most interested in pursuing. Notice how I also wrote some header ideas on the right.
Congratulations, you just found a list of high potential keywords to last for months! Feel free to go ahead, start a blog and experiment.
While trials and errors is a great way to improve, you can also learn a lot from others’ experience. Below, I let me show you some real-life examples of Jaaxy in action.

I’ve asked some folks about how Jaaxy works for them. Among the dozen of replies, this one pops out:

“Can you share one experience where Jaaxy has helped you rank on Google?”
One long tail keyword that I was thrilled to find because of the large amount of monthly searches and relatively low competition was “guide making money online”. I chose this phrase to target and of course had it as my post title, my URL, and mentioned it as I naturally could in the article. But a while after I had published this post I realized that it didn’t make much sense and was kind of an awkward phrase.
I ranked in position 34 in Google, but couldn’t get it to move up. Finally I looked at the phrase “guide to making money online”. It had the same amount of searches, but instead 100 competing websites, it had around 210.
I did a no no in the online world, I removed my URL from Google Webmaster Tools and changed the URL to “guide to making money online”. It just made more sense and flowed smoother. I lost my ranking for about a week. During this time, I added to the post to try to make it as complete of a guide as I could. Soon, it ranked back in the 30’s, then in the 20’s and for over a year it ranks in position 2, 3, or 4 for both phrases and there about 3,700 people/mo that search this phrase. It used to be over 7,000.
I do this same style with every post and I get my content to rank quickly.

Todd isn’t the only one succeeding with Jaaxy.
What’s great about keyword research is that everyone can do it, if you put in the time and effort.

After publishing the article I found it to be ranking on Page 1 of Google which was a surprise, due to not having placed a huge emphasis on the importance of this post.
It should not have been a surprise because Jaaxy gave that keyword SEO ranking of 90, meaning the keyword had an expectation of Page 1 on Google.

Why traffic doesn’t matter
That’s internationally-recognized entrepreneur and SEO expert, Brian Dean.
However, Brian didn’t start out with all the answers. When one of his old sites gained a whooping 60,000 visitors from organic search alone… yet his monthly revenue is lower than a minimum U.S. wage worker. He knew something was off.
So what’s the deal?
Search volume doesn’t equal conversion. No matter if there are thousands of people searching for free samples by mail, they are never going to buy anything from you. In the SEO world, we call that commercial intent.
Every keywords on the planet can be organized into four categories, also known as the customer purchase lifecycle:
- The Buy Now keywords – These are the folks who search with the intention to make a purchase right away. Their search usually contains “buy, discount and deal”.
- The Product keywords – These guys search for specific product names. They want to buy something, but would like to research some more. Their search usually contains the words “review, best, and affordable”.
- The Informational keywords – These folks are not actively looking to purchase anything, they just need some guides to solve their problems. Their search usually contains the words “how to, best way to and ways to”.
- The Tire Kicker keywords – Don’t bother with these guys, they don’t intent to buy anything, any time soon. In fact, they are looking for free stuffs that usually contain words like “free, torrent and download”.
Some folks simply google to find information on how to potty train their pet, others to find a comfy bed for their dog. Don’t attempt at targeting high traffic and competitive keywords, focus on the commercial intent.
You want to target buy now and product keywords. While you can catch people at a later stage of their buying decision with buy now keywords, it makes more sense to create content around product keywords. Write product reviews to help and inform your readers on a product and help them with their buying decision.
Remember that keywords can only get you in front of customers, you need to persuade them to buy. Here’s Gael Breyton on how you shouldn’t make your audience feel.
Let’s summarise how searching for feedback about a product you are about to buy usually goes…
Step 1: Type “product” + review in Google.
Step 2: Your eyes melt at the amount of star ratings and review websites appearing on your screen, half the titles read “is product a scam? Don’t buy product before you read this!”
Step 3: Tentatively click on a result that doesn’t seem to be an obvious click bait and where the domain name looks trustable (i.e not producthonestreivew.com).
Step 4: Land on a page filled with CTA 100% positive reviews and is obviously completely sold out to the product owner (and, if you’re lucky, some rehashed product descriptions).
Step 5: Close your browser in rage after landing on 3 or 4 such sites not knowing what to do about buying the product or not.
Don’t hesitate to ask for support
Let’s face it, keyword research can still be tough and confusing at first. And while you may be tempted to figure things out on your own, there is a better alternative.
