x   In my opinion, it’s better to learn online marketing from various sources (more in this later)

Summary: Wealthy Affiliate is the best community to learn about online marketing to me. But it’s not a get-rich-quick scheme. If you are unable to dedicate to your business, you may end up blaming it and quit.

This is the reason I put together this review/ guide. To help you make the most of it, and maybe even start an online business that pays the bill. Enjoy!

If there is one thing you should know about Make Money Online courses, is that 99.9% of them stinks. First, they hype you up into thinking you can make hundreds of thousands of dollars in a short period of time, then left you with some crappy third-rate program and absolutely no sign of social interactions.

That’s not Wealthy Affiliate.

Wealthy Affiliate is an online training and community that supports users to build a sustainable business through blogging, if applied correctly.

Here are some sweet results I got thanks to Wealthy Affiliate. I created a post called “108 Experts Give Advice to New Bloggers” that’s shared 690 times…

… by my admiration like Jon Morrow. No less!

I’m not the only one.

Other fellow members like Paul Goodwin made up to $3,000 in 3 months, while Eddy Salomon even managed to earn a full-time income from home.

I followed the training and very soon began to understand how everything worked.

This is the best thing that has ever happened to me because I have worked my way to number 4 in the WA system and have also sold about 3,000 USD worth of my product since Christmas and my website has been going only five months.

I have also now increased my daily site viewers from 60 to 281 and this is by listening to the help and support from the group.

I’ve been here at Wealthy Affiliate since 2007 so I think that speaks volumes on what I feel about it. It’s helped me earn a full-time income online and learn skills that continue to pay me.

Notice I said “if applied correctly”. Wealthy Affiliate is simply a great training and tool to learn online marketing (with a few shortcuts), but it’s not magic.

In this Wealthy Affiliate review, I’m not going to try to sell the training to you. I will simply show you what it is and my experience with it, and let you decide for yourself if this is what you’re looking for.

What is Wealthy Affiliate University?

Wealthy Affiliate University – also known as Wealthy Affiliate, is an online marketing community founded by entrepreneurs Kyle (on the right) and Carson (on the left), dedicated to help members create and run a successful online business.

Wealthy Affiliates - Kyle and Carson

With over 100k users, Wealthy Affiliate becomes more than a simple space to learn, but also one of the most active and supportive online marketing community on the internet. Which happens to be its’ most valuable selling point.

Wealthy Affiliate was created as an initiative to help other people succeed online.

First of all, to find out whether this is worth your time, we need to know what kind of people would benefit from Wealthy Affiliate. Then we’ll look at every aspects that define this online training such as

Who is Wealthy Affiliate for?

The first question you need to ask yourself before you jump into something like Wealthy Affiliate is how serious are you with building a business (online, in this case) of your own.

This means investing a decent amount of time, energy and money into it before ever seeing results.

If you prefer a quick solution. I would recommend something much simpler than Wealthy Affiliate such as applying for a good old part-time job or sell your skills on freelance sites like Elance or PeoplePerHour.

That said, if you can relate to any of the following sentences:

  • I want to turn my hobby into an additional income,
  • I want to monetize my blog,
  • I love a good challenge,
  • I want to create a passive income stream.

… then there is a huge chance that you’ll love Wealthy Affiliate.

What to expect from Wealthy Affiliate

In a market full of unrealistic plugs like Make Money Online, it’s crucial to know what you can, and can’t expect from a product. If you still daydream of making thousands overnight, then what you’re going to read will likely surprise or better, amaze you.

Because Wealthy Affiliate is unlike anything you’ve seen before, right from the core of their business ethics.

Wealthy Affiliate on “making money online”

In this review, I’d like to take a different approach by looking at Wealthy Affiliate’s purpose and beliefs, because I trust we can only love a service if they believe in what we believe.

So this is Wealthy Affiliate’s homepage.

Wealthy Affiliate - Homepage

Compare that to the typical Make Money Online courses.

Paid Survey at Home and Take Surveys For Cash - Homepage

For one, Wealthy Affiliate doesn’t promote “weird tricks” they use to make $3,500 per month. Instead, they focus on passion, comfort and freedom.

Wealthy Affiliate - Tagline

Another note is that it has an inviting sleek and modern design, not an old Web 1.0 style. In fact, Wealthy Affiliate does not look like a sales page but a social network for online marketers.

A homepage conveys a lot about any company’s true value.

Our focus is teaching you how to create a successful, long-term business within the online space.

For Wealthy Affiliate, it symbolizes their realistic yet inspirational approach to online marketing. They never tell you there is a secret to wealth and happiness, or that you can quickly build a sustainable business using their service.

The training and support

While values are great, you can’t create anything with only promises. Let’s take a look at Wealthy Affiliate’s training and support.

Success is very cumulative in nature.

This means that everything you do now, and every step you take will contribute towards your personal success in the future.

Wealthy Affiliate offers five courses from beginner to advanced, designed for you to go from one to the other until you reach level 5.

Level 1: Getting Started
Level 2: Building your Own Traffic Producing Website
Level 3: Making Money!
Level 4: Mastering Social Engagement
Level 5: Achieving Maximum Success through Content Creation

Each of these courses contain 10 throughout lessons, accompanied with video guides.

Wealthy Affiliate - Training Level 1

The best part is that you have a checklist at the end of each lessons, which makes the course a lot more actionable and fun.

One more thing, below the checklist is a comment section that you can use in case you have any questions. Despite the fact that there are over 100k comments, you’ll actually receive a quick reply since all questions are featured on Wealthy Affiliates’ homepage.

Wealthy Affiliate - Lessons and support

This is just one of the many ways to seek help on Wealthy Affiliate. If your question is not course related, just submit a stand-alone query or simply chat in the Live Chat section.

Or even seek the site owners if you have a taste for that.

Let me guess, you’re thinking “well, owners of a relatively popular product like Wealthy Affiliate won’t have time for you.” Before joining Wealthy Affiliate, I thought the same.

But not Kyle and Carson. They’d even go out of their ways to talk to you.

Wealthy Affiliate - Chat with Kyle

Now that you’ve learnt all there is to know about the training and support on Wealthy Affiliate, I’m going to throw in a towel of controversy: I don’t follow their training anymore.

Because let’s face it, with the boom of content marketing, you can find just as good, even better guides on online marketing for free.

And sure, the support is great but most Wealthy Affiliate members are learning the ropes like you — basic technical questions are okay, but real pain points like “how to get more traffic to your blog” and “how to rank on Google” may not receive satisfactory answers.

Then what would keep members for over half a year, even going as far as visiting the site every day?

Well, Wealthy Affiliate is not just a training. It’s also an one-of-a-kind tool.

The tools (or shortcuts)

SiteComments is the only platform in the world where you can get real comments, from real people who are interested in your type of website.

Wealthy Affiliate on SiteComment

To further prove their user-oriented solution, Wealthy Affiliate boasts a handful of useful tools that will surely make any blogger’s life easier. Here are my favorites:

  • WordPress web hosting — while you can easily rent a reliable web host for less than $4 a month. It helps to have your site and community in one place. And of course, this adds more value to Wealthy Affiliate’s offer.
  • SiteComments — Wealthy Affiliate helps me gather over 1,340 thoughtful comments to my blog by the time of this post.
Wealthy Affiliate - SiteComments Pending Comments
What I love about SiteComments is that it’s a simple give-and-take system, nothing automated or shady.
  • Keyword Research — a straightforward keyword research tool that helps you save time and money on setting up the Google Keyword Planner.
  • SiteFeedback — a tool to give and take feedbacks for your blog. It’s good to use it at first, then you’d also want to develop your own style.

The community

Wealthy Affiliate is not all about quick support, it’s also a lively community of over a hundred thousand members.

The little feed on Wealthy Affiliate’s homepage summarizes this nicely.

Here’s an insider’s look.

Wealthy Affiliate - Dashboard

I learnt to appreciate the Premium membership because it helps gather the people who are worth hanging around, not freeloaders only looking to benefit themselves.

The social network aspect of Wealthy Affiliate is so crucial because, like starting any new adventures, you don’t want to be on your own. You want to know someone has your back and shares the journey.

At least, this is what Wealthy Affiliate means to me.

Can you succeed with Wealthy Affiliate?

You should know better than me.

Sorry for being brutally honest there. But the truth is as much as I don’t know how long it’ll take you to learn Japanese, I don’t know how long it’ll take you to master online marketing.

In fact, only 17% of bloggers were able to sustain their lifestyle or support their family.

I’m not here to give you false hope.

For some, it takes a month to see results…

Wealthy Affiliate - CStipes Earning

Others takes 4 months…

Wealthy Affiliate - Edy Earnings

Or up to 6 months.

Wealthy Affiliate - Anh Nguyen Earning

Some even ended up realizing money is not what they are looking for.

It started off with a need to make money, recently laid off in March 2015 I wanted to make money quickly.

As I worked through the training however, Wealthy Affiliate became a place that built confidence. I became more confident in my writing skills, along with the skills I learned in the training.

This surprised me.

It kept me on a high the first 3 months, with that sense of expectancy of what would come through Google, through Amazon, through networking, even through ranking. It was all very exciting for a newbie.

Follow your gut.

If Wealthy Affiliate feels right, go ahead and sign up for a free account – you have nothing to lose.

Then upgrade to Premium if the training and community helps. If not, find something else.

As long as you don’t give up, you’ll find a way.

Price and membership

Wealthy Affiliate offers two pricing plans: a free Starter and a Premium membership at $49 per month (the good news is that you can get Wealthy Affiliate’s Premium for only 50% off.).

Wealthy Affiliate - Memberships

The Starter membership is ideal for new users to experience Wealthy Affiliate at no cost at all. For the first 7 days you are free to use all Premium features, then you’re limited to

  • Only access the Level 1 course,
  • No access to Live Chat,
  • Create only up to 2 websites,
  • No access to SiteComments and SiteFeedback.

Aside from being limited to 2 websites, you also can’t host your own domain name (i.e. Bloggingthing.com) and has to choose a your-site.siterubix.com domain instead.

While you can use a siterubix.com extension domain for as long as you want, later upgrading to your-site.com in the future will hurt your traffic and search engine rankings. If you are even slightly serious about your business, you need to consider upgrading or buying a domain name within Wealthy Affiliate.

The best part about Wealthy Affiliate’s Premium membership is that it opens up the whole social side of the platform. A few key features are:

  • Freely chat and blog,
  • Personal support from Kyle and Carson,
  • Create and fully control up to 50 websites,
  • Access to SiteComments.

Some claims you can make money with the Starter membership, but I think the chances are slim.

If you’re not ready to invest in Wealthy Affiliate, you’d better host your blog for $3.95 per month on a good web host like BlueHost, then read

Amy Lynn Andrews’ How to Blog,
and Gael Breton’s epic How To Write Product Reviews That Sell.

You’ll learn much more about online marketing then with Wealthy Affiliate’s free membership.

Wealthy Affiliate cons

Here are some things to look out for

  • Wealthy Affiliate doesn’t offer Free memberships in certain countries like Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines and Vietnam. So if you’re in these countries (like me), you’ll have to purchase a Premium membership to start using the platform.
  • This one is personal, I found that I prefer to follow marketing strategies from blogs like QuickSprout and Backlinko than Wealthy Affiliate. I only use Wealthy Affiliate as a tool and community to fall back on. This goes to show that Wealthy Affiliate’s method is not a one-size-fits-all.

Other opinions

We agree and disagree on the same things so I’ve asked a few members: “What do you think of Wealthy Affiliate?”

Wealthy affiliate is a company who has changed my life.

When I first joined I was not sure if they were for real because it just did not seem possible they way everyone offered to help. I knew absolutely nothing about building a website or selling a product and so I just did not know how it would work.

Wealthy Affiliate is like a family and it is the best family that anyone could wish to be a part of.

Wealthy Affiliate is the best thing that ever come to me in my life, and I regret I didn’t find this education and this community earlier.

All I know about website development, Search Engine Optimization and the influence Google, Bing, and Social Media have on the visibility of my websites, I learned by following the easy step-by-step classes on Wealthy Affiliate.

The tutorials are very thorough and to the point. For new people, Wealthy Affiliate can be very overwhelming. Not really a shortcoming, but sometimes a reason to quit. But once they are settled and have learned to take advantage of the available question bar, they get reassured when they find answers from other members on their question.
I am grateful for the day I discovered Wealthy Affiliate because joining WA definitely changed my life forever! I would never have been able to build an online business without the great training, the help of the community and all the awesome people I have met there. I have learned so much and I am proud of everything I accomplished so far!

It’s not an online scam that promises you to make money overnight but a legit website that teaches you all the skills to become a successful online marketer!

Wealthy Affiliate has not only taught me how to build websites, they also taught me the business of Internet marketing.

About the only shortcoming that I can see with Wealthy Affiliate University is all the emails that I have to respond to. While I can limit the number of emails that I receive, we are ranked based on participation. My rank was 42 and now I am at 60. Even though the rank isn’t going to make me any money, my rank is still important to me.

I would recommend Wealthy Affiliate University to anyone. It has changed my life in many ways. Wealthy Affiliate University has the power to change people’s lives for the better.

Like anything there are things that can be improved. But the great thing is that the owners are usually aware of these things and try to address them over time. But overall I don’t think there is anything comparable out there. So I’ll continue to be a member for many more years to come.
Wealthy Affiliate is a wonderful and caring online community of folks gathered online for a common purpose. That purpose has changed for me since I have begun my journey here.

At 4-5 months out, my ranking improved to Ambassador where I have been for the last 100 days. I have come to care about and look forward to my Wealthy Affiliate family and the camaraderie we share daily. It has become part of a regular routine.

At 5-7 months out, I have begun a shift, where I am using my website as a vehicle to pursue my passion of health and wellness. What I have learned about myself in this journey is that I cannot pursue money, it does not fit with who I am. I have to pursue things that I love and feel in my heart is right for me. Whenever I have tried to go after something for the sake of money it never comes to fruition. I must heed what this is telling me.

So I am continuing to grow my skills and my online presence. I am putting together a Summit which is a collection of interviews of 21 health experts to go over the topic of my niche which is Revitalize Your Metabolism. This summit is filled with tremendous information that my ideal customer can use and put into practice right away and all I am asking since it’s free is their email address.
While I continue to blog at Wealthy Affiliate, I am taking what I have learned here and using it in my next chapter which is to drive traffic to my email list.

I vividly remember the desperation searching for a way — any way to live a life on my own terms.

Not that I hate my 9 – 5 job, it’s just too boring. Right when I lost hope that there are any good training on online marketing, I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliate. $49 is not a small amount to me, on top of that I didn’t have the chance to try it for free. But I took the plunge anyways.

Fast forward 6 months later, I achieve some results and more than that, had the chance to interact with industry leaders like Joe Pulizzi, Michael Stelzner and Neil Patel. None of this would have happened if not for Wealthy Affiliate.

While Wealthy Affiliate is not magic, it can change your life.

And I highly recommend Wealthy Affiliate to anyone who wants to make a difference.

This looks like a legitimate program. I’d love to learn affiliate marketing if I knew it could really make money. I’m still not convinced. I noticed in your review there is a Site Comments area. What does this do? How do comments help and what does it have to do with marketing?
I may look deeper into this and hope it’s not another scam. Looking around, it seems to be better than the other alternatives.

    • Anh Nguyen

Nigel, there are definitively so many scams in the make money online world it’s ridiculous. SiteComments is the tool I love the most about Wealthy Affiliate, it helped me gather over 800 comments on Bloggingthing. I actually wrote an article on this.

While Wealthy Affiliate is great, I’d like to note that it can take a lot of efforts to see results. So what you really need to ask yourself before jumping in (the risks are low though since Wealthy Affiliate offers a free membership) is are you willing to dedicate to it? It’s the same for every businesses actually.

      I hope this helps!

  2. Travis Smithers

For close to ten years I had used other systems to have an online presence just to end up paying out with no proper results.

The community members in the other systems, as well as the hosting company, were all trying to upsell if everything they had was the best and only way to get ahead.

It was not until I discovered Wealthy Affiliate to get the real truth to building a successful online business in the making.

    Great post.

    • Anh Nguyen

Travis, great to hear your story! I feel the same when I stumbled upon Wealthy Affiliate actually.

  3. Cathy

Hi! Thanks for the honest review of Wealthy Affiliate. I am a new member and am just getting started blogging. I agree with your review that Wealthy Affiliate has a good training program, but their are other resources available too. Thanks for an open and honest review. Your review helped me and I know it will help others too.You can never learn enough about something your passionate about.

    • Anh Nguyen

Cathy, I’m glad I can help!

  4. Chris Towers

Hi there. I just wanted to pass by and leave a comment as I read your information here on Wealthy Affiliate.

I know a lot of people who have tried this and they have never said a bad word, but this is the first time I have seen a couple of testimonials in the way of success stories.

I am going to look more into this and come back. Are you free to answer any questions I may have later?

    • Anh Nguyen

Chris, sure feel free to drop a comment. 🙂 I’m always happy to help.

  5. Cathy

    Hi there Anh,

A lot of programs out there will promise you how to make money online fast with some secret formula. Wealthy Affiliate’s training on the other hand, will provide you with strong foundation that can help build sustainable online business for a long time.

Everyday, someone blogs about their success – whether it’s $1 or $100 dollars in the WA forum. The way I see it, once people know that it’s achievable, they stop chasing the fast lane and just work on building quality business traffic over time.

These are the type of entrepreneurs that Wealthy Affiliate churn out every single day.

    • Anh Nguyen

Inspirational, Cathy! It’s true that you have to get over the fact that it’s not the fast lane you’re going, building an online business.

  6. Apeng

Hey Anh… Intrigued indeed. There’s a lot of testimonials of successes but you mentioned it’s 17% success rate. That means only 1 in 5 will get through this program. What happens to the 4 drop-outs out of every 5? If I’m in that category then perhaps I should not join? Hmm… I wonder… Thanks, Apeng.

    • Anh Nguyen

Apeng, it’s sad to know a lot didn’t make it online. I think it’s not a category of people but what’s important is whether or not you’re gonna give your all in building a sustainable business. Hope this helps!

    • Why would you even think about that statistic going into it? People fail and then quit, but who is to blame? Not the program that’s for sure. You only get out what you put into it, period. If you go in with the mindset of “I’m going to make this work no matter what”, then you will likely succeed. If you’re doubting before you even sign up, then just don’t sign up at all because you’ve already lost. May sound harsh but it’s the truth. Yes I was skeptical at first, but I committed to learning and now I’m succeeding. Thanks for reading.

  7. Tanaquillo

Thanks for writing such a comprehensive and thorough review. You brought up some interesting points for both sides of the argument.

I must admit that once I found Wealthy Affiliate, I stopped looking elsewhere, which is a mistake. No one place is the repository of all knowledge and it’s good to check out what the competition is doing too. I am definitely going to check out some of the sites you recommend.

    • Anh Nguyen

Tanaquillo, I’m so glad the post was useful to you. It’s definitively worth sniffing around for more knowledges. Then again, I see a lot of other members at Wealthy Affiliate succeed while learning from the courses.

      • Tanaquillo

Well, two weeks later I thought I’d check back in with you – some of those sites you recommend are absolutely mind blowing. Wow! I’ve looked around even more to see whats out there and… my head is spinning. I feel like I stepped out expecting a gentle rain shower and was hit with a fire-hose intensity downpour instead. Its incredibly overwhelming, but has been really good for me. Its opened my eyes to see several areas that I am in serious need of improvement.

I’ve also come to realize that the beauty of WA lies in its community and its step by step, hold-your-hand style training. No shiny and distracting headlines, just simple steps that anyone can take to get a good foundation of this business.

Keep up the awesome blog posts 🙂 I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

        • Aww Tanaquillo, I’m glad you learned something new from the blog! Wealthy Affiliate’s community is something that personally keeps me moving forward during the toughest times. 🙂

  8. Terrance Williams

A really complete coverage of WA. I like the way you did not hesitate to mention the negatives of the program. We all live in a real world where nothing is completely perfect. I did read the whole thing and it did hold my interest. Probably the only thing I could mention is that it is almost too long for a casual reader.

    • Anh Nguyen

Terrance, I’m so glad you enjoyed the article! I aim to create something genuine and really throughout for the readers without the whole promotional part. 🙂

  9. Riaz Shah

    Hello again Anh,

This is by far one of the best WA reviews I’ve come across on the internet. I too am a member there and man, if I am not a member, I would totally join from you.

Very well written and I forgot how amazing the program is. There is no program on the internet that can come close to what WA has to offer, highly recommended for those serious in building their own Online Business the right way!

    • Anh Nguyen

Aww, it’s always great to hear from you. I also learn to appreciate WA much more after writing this. Sometimes you forget to appreciate the things you already have. 😛

  10. Wow..wow..and WOW!! This is a great review Anh. Very engaging. It is very details and gives some new perspective. I like your honesty, it gives the reader something to think about. Again great review Anh. Wish you much success in years ahead!

    • Rozzaq, thanks so much for the kind words! I wish you all the best as well. 🙂

  11. Wow, this is by far the best review I’ve ever seen online. Not only do you go into incredible detail but you’ve also included so many relevant photos. I love that you have snapshots of what it’s really like to see the training inside of Wealthy Affiliate. I, too, am a premium member of Wealthy Affiliate and I absolutely love it. When I found them I figured that I would just be overwhelmed and confused but once I gave the free starter membership a try, I was hooked. I knew I would become a premium member right away. Once you find that kind of information and a community that is beyond supportive, you just can’t give it up. I am so grateful to Kyle and Carson for creating the website and giving people with no experience online the chance to create a website based around a passion and then make money off of it. It’s so rewarding and even fun. This is the only work from home opportunity I’ve found that isn’t a scam. I’m so grateful for it. Love your review. Have a great night. 🙂

    • Allison, aww thanks so much for the kind words. I’m with you on the topic.

  12. Hi Anh,
Thank you so much for sharing the Wonderful review.
I appreciate you for presenting a genuine review by covering all the pros and cons of the system.
So sad to note that the free membership is not available in India as well in your country. A $47 is a bit higher on my side LOL. anyways the testimonials are really tempting!
    Thanks for your valuable recommendation.
May you have a great time of sharing and caring.
    Best Regards

    • Philip, aww yes, it’s too bad they don’t offer a free membership in our country. Thanks for dropping by as always. You’re a star!

  13. Hi Anh , this is the most comprehensive review of Wealthy Affiliate I have seen. Indeed, Wealthy Affiliate is suitable for anyone from a novice to experts. It has tons of training that cater for everyone’s needs.

As a member since 2015, I have learned how to build my Online Business from scratch, with zero knowledge in Internet Marketing. It is a definite legitimate place to learn and progress.

    Wishing you the best,

  14. This is by far one of if not the most comprehensive reviews I have seen so far of WA, it also contains some very useful information for members that is not commonly known, I don’t recall seeing the number of user before, and the difference between having a SiteRubix account and another account on a different platform. It is also encouraging to see the warnings of get rich rich thoughts, which enables members to know it takes time and hard work, so they won’t feel like failures if they don’t see results right away. I had to smile when I saw the statement of typos by Kyle. It also confirms the greatness of Kyle and Carson for creating such a trust worthy online platform.

    • Aw, thanks Courtney. I feel very lucky to be part of WA and am sure will not leave even after I built a sustainable business.

  15. Derek Marshall

    Hi There,

That is a thorough and complete review of any system I have seen anywhere and I tend to read a lot of reviews!

I like how you have gone to such detail and effort to make such a jaw dropping in-depth review/ analysis of the sytem at Wealthy Affiliate.

You might want to change CEO to SEO, when you were mentioning Kyle “he know’s about CEO and doesn’t try to hide that fact” (or to that effect)… should be SEO,

    • Anh Nguyen

Thanks so much for the kind words. And also pointing out my embarrassing blunder! I’m actually gonna update this review soon so, that CEO word has to go.

Thanks again for making my day. 😉

  16. Jessica

I really enjoyed your review of WA. I liked how you said this is by far the most legitimate way to make money online. I feel the same way. So many other programs I tried seemed good at first but eventually they crashed and burned and the admin ran off with the money. But what you learn at WA is to be your own boss so there is no one to crash and burn your business but you. I also love how you say that the social aspect can get distracting. I seem to have the opposite problem where I have to remind myself to stay active. We all need to be active in the community to stay engaged because that helps us stay on task and motivates us to keep going. But ignoring it or chatting too much are definitely not good.

    • Anh Nguyen

Very nicely said, Jessica! I’m also more on the side of needing to interact within the community. I tend to drift off working on my business most of the time. 😛

  17. Ananda

Sounds like pretty good company with low price point. So this is a network marketing company with an online presence. There is no doubt giving hope to people in online marketing, is a good thing. I believe you have finally found the right place to be free from being scammed, lied to & taken.

    Good review keep it up!

    • Anh Nguyen

Ananda, it’s a reasonable price I believe, a little on the expensive side for me actually but totally worths it if you are willing to put in the time and effort. 🙂

Hi Anh, another great review about WA and its awesome features.

You did presented all the important aspects of this community and you mentioned that is a social platform for interaction, feedback.

Underlining the bad side of this program was a great way to let people know what to expect when they join.I was receiving mass emails in the beginning but now I have set up my notifications accordingly.

What I liked most in this network is that the training is not promising you to become rich and they highlight that you have to work hard to make it happen.

Would you need to see some changes in the future from WA? …Anything missing from their content?

    Honest review.

    • Anh Nguyen

I couldn’t agree with you more, Tasos. WA is the best user-oriented program I’ve found where they really offer more than they promise, as we all know there are so many bad programs out there.

What I will improve at WA would be it’s performance, I’m quite specific about quality so I will thrive to make everything more good looking and runs smoothly. And maybe adding some new features to further develop the program but WA already has the best stuffs like SiteComments and SiteFeedback already. 😛

  19. Results

    This is a fantastic review.

The content explains the pros and cons about the service, which is important for anyone who is deciding on building their own online business.

Taking into consideration market affiliating, always doesn’t suit all, but announcing this online business has profitable results providing you match work commitments to your vision, I’m sure all can find success.

The site is clean and simple making the information relatable and trusting.

    Great work.

    • Anh Nguyen

Thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot to me!

  20. cheapkicksstore

Love hearing about WA these guy have really cracked the code on the how to make money online. And the success everyone is having to proof enough. All you have to do is follow along with the training and be patient. The cash flow will come once you complete your training. The support, knowledge, and experience from Kyle & Carson is priceless.

    • Anh Nguyen

Cheapkicksstore, it’s definitely a pleasure to be part of WA. 🙂

  21. Neil

    Hello Anh,

I have looked into the Wealthy Affiliate online business training community on many occasions, and I must say, I loved your review on the program. 🙂

There certainly are a lot of pros to Wealthy Affiliate that will be highly beneficial to me as a newbie who wants to make money online, and the Free starter account looks amazing!

    Thank You for the review!

    • Anh Nguyen

I just love to give good information for others so they can better decide for themselves. Thanks, Neil.

  22. Alblue

Hello, after looking again on your post about stock images site, I decided to take a look on your other posts.

I am surprised that you give a very thorough review about Wealthy Affiliate. It really summarize what I feel after deciding to join WA. I have received so many help from the community and learn so much about internet marketing there.

I hope for everyone that will try to join WA a best success too.

    • Anh Nguyen

Couldn’t agree with you more, Alblue. 🙂

  23. Alex

Hi there, you have done a great review on Wealthy Affiliate.

I think the 1-on-1 coaching is not really a con. Since he is the founder and I believe it is hard to him to give support to all the members. At least it is possible to reach him on his profile and I guess he response?

This has illustrated that this platform is a community-based program and the members genuinely care about the success of everyone involved. It makes the program more trustworthy.

Very nice article and an accurate description of what Wealthy Affiliate is about. Thank you!

    • Anh Nguyen

Yes, Kyle answers me every time I PM him and you can still receive support from the community so that adds up to it. 🙂

  24. Marcus

The great thing about Wealthy Affiliate is the step-by-step training. You really are taken by the hand and shown exactly what you need to do. Then you are given actionable tasks to complete at the end of each lesson. This is what really makes the difference in my opinion because without action the lessons are just theory. Ultimately, it is not what you know that matters, it is the action you take. You need to get that website up and the great content on it. Of course, having the peer support of all the other members of WA is an amazing bonus.

How did you first find out about Wealthy Affiliate?

    • Anh Nguyen

Very well said, Marcus. It’s definitely a learning process and we can all succeed if we keep moving forward.

I found Wealthy Affiliate when I decided I don’t want to be an affiliate of products that I don’t believe in anymore, I wanted to find something that I can be proud to recommend to others. Before WA, I almost though there is nothing but shady make money online programs on the internet. 🙂

  25. Christine

I was reading your review on Wealthy Affiliates and it looks like a very good place to learn how to get a business up and running. I do have a question on how the pay-it-forward comments and feedback works. You said it was only for SiteRubix (the site builder within Wealthy Affiliate). Does that mean if I already have a website and want to become a member of Wealthy Affiliates I can’t use this?

    • Anh Nguyen

Christine, in that case you will need to move your site from your host to SiteRubix. I wrote a little about the process here. Feel free to drop me a message you have any other questions!

  26. Alec

I enjoyed reading through your review. Wealthy Affiliate looks like a great choice for beginners and advanced users alike.

I have a few questions. How long does it usually take to see your first penny on Wealthy Affiliate? Is it possible to make full-time income with the program? How much work is it?

    • Anh Nguyen

Alec, in my experience, it took over 6 months to see results some takes less than a month. This depends vastly on individuals and their knowledge. It does take a lot of work to build up a blog and sustain it, but it’s certainly worth it at the end of the day. 🙂

  27. Matthew Thomas

There’s not much negative to mention about Wealthy Affiliate. The training is outstanding, including step-by-step tutorials and the community is absolutely amazing. There’s a true pay-it-forward mentality that starts with the owners, Kyle & Carson, and trickles down through the rest of the community.

Every time you have questions or get stuck, there’s live chat, private messaging, and a search feature that encompasses blog posts, tutorials, and training lessons. Certainly no shortage of help available.

    • Anh Nguyen

Nicely said, Matthew. It’s great to hear opinions from fellow WA friends!

  28. cathyonwa

Great information! I feel like I already have a working knowledge of Wealthy Affiliate just from your very extensive review. I particularly like the comments and site feedback features. You are 100% correct that when you are building a website from scratch there is some ramp up time. The quicker we can get our sites up and running correctly, the sooner we can begin to general income.

  29. Lynne

This looks like a great opportunity, thanks for sharing Anh. Can you tell me how you found the training? Do they cover everything you need to know or will I have to find out some things on my own or elsewhere?
Can I make money on the Starter membership or will I have to do the Premium membership to make money?

    • Anh Nguyen

Hi Lynne, interesting questions you got there!

I think the trainings on Wealthy Affiliate to be quite action driven and very suitable for beginners, people who just started and didn’t know much about blogging. Otherwise, you will want to skip some of the first lessons as Kyle is pretty detailed about the steps. One thing though, and I think this applies to all trainings. While you may be able to build a business with them alone, they only cover all the main, evergreen tips and tricks to build an online business. After a while, you may want to expand your knowledge to more current information by reading blogs, research statistics etc. I compiled some of my top 5 online marketing blog here.

About making money with the starter or premium membership, I’d say that WA is a training program, and it does depend a lot on where you are in your journey. With the starter membership, you will be able to go through the first lessons about the basics of being a blogger/ online entrepreneur and you can fully access the community for 7 days, then you will only be able to post comments but not chat.

The most important thing is that, I believe you can’t host your own domain name with a free membership (I am not so sure because I haven’t tried the free membership…), your website will look like this “yoursitename.siterubix.com“. So I think if you are not investing on Wealthy Affiliate, then don’t build your website there but find another WordPress hosting/ blogging platform and at least buy a domain name (for only $10 a year at NameCheap).

  30. I was lucky and found this open education project right at the start of my search looking for a passive income, thank goodness! You ve written a comprehensive review, have you got links to any success stories with Wealthy Affiliate?

    • Hello, you probably are lucky to get to the good side of the online business since the start. Here are a list of 6 successful members from Wealthy Affiliate. I’d say though it will likely take efforts and time to build a sustainable business. Feel free to message or email me if you you have any more questions.
      All the best!

  31. Charles Reynolds

I enjoyed your review of the Wealthy Affiliate program. You were able to cover all the parts of the program very completely and include your personal experience with the program. I have been a Premium member for approximately 5 months now and I am constantly learning new things. I am glad you mentioned the Link Tracker tool since I have not been using it and now I will.

    • Anh Nguyen

Nice to meet you, Charles. I am happy to hear about your experience and glad to remind you about the tool. All the best!

  32. Ali

Wow, I like your honest about WA, it is necessary guide to point out the main pros and cons of this internet marketing.

I was looking forward to an honest approach to this system. For a free membership started up and lessons…

Time to get stuck in and make some money.

    Thanks, mate.

    • Anh Nguyen

Nice to meet you, Ali. I am sure if you put in the efforts, results will start showing. Remember to give it time. Cheers!

  33. Shivaram

I have read your article about Wealthy Affiliate Review. This review has been very common and many affiliates have written about it. All I can say is that you have done an excellent job with your review analysis. WA is indeed one of the best products out there in the Internet Space compared to all the digital marketing products.

      • Shivaram

WA is one of the most valuable money-making products in today’s internet marketing world. There are lots of money making products out there and none of them can be compared to WA. This product is in fact one of the very best products that I really enjoyed using and I highly recommend any newbie to try this product out first.

        • Yes, it’s a good program to teach you about starting a business online. What I like about WA is how it doesn’t hype it self as a money making program.

  34. Loretta

I’m happy to see that there is an honest platform for people to be apart of to learn how to make money online. The best part about it is that it is free to join. But I do have a question. Suppose I build a website while I’m a member of Wealthy Affiliate and I decide not be a member any more, what happens to the site I built?

    • Anh Nguyen

Nice to meet you, Lorreta. Supportingly you don’t want to host your website on WA any more, you can export it to another host. Your website at WA is basically a WordPress site which all hosting will support. I hope this helps, do tell me if you need more information.

  35. Brian

Anh, just got done reading “Are Clickbank Products Worth Your Time”. It was very informative and clear to what kind of audience you are writing too. Thank you. As a beginner myself, I learned a lot from your experiences. I also do think it is important to try any product that you promote or review. So even if you are looking for products on Clickbank or wherever there are indicators of great converting products, but you still have to buy them for yourself to try. Doing the quality control for your readers it what will make them trust you I think. I personally have bought many products from Clickbank over the years and some were really good some really bad. Really it was the reason I started looking at affiliate marketing in the first place, So I think Clickbank is a great place to start, as long as the affiliate is putting in the time and effort into researching products for his/her customers and developing a trusting relationship by giving them high quality books and programs. Thanks again, great article!

    • Anh Nguyen

Nice to meet you, Brian. I am happy to hear about your experience, it’s great to see others having the dedication as an affiliate to take responsibilities of the product they promote. I would love to see some good quality products from ClickBank. It’s quite hard to find with all the the promotions and dubious reviews. I think affiliates at ClickBank tend to be rather out of control. Cheers!

  36. Dave Sweney

Hi Anh, This was a very thorough review of Wealthy Affiliate and I understand why you have it such a high score…Your approach was from the inside, showing the tools and pages etc. which I think is very effective…

It sounds like some of the downsides are not that major at all, and easily handled with a few clicks (i.e. the email notifications in your inbox for each action that affects you)…

If you were in charge would there be anything you might set up or do differently? You seem to have a pretty good handle on this whole online marketing thing, so I would be curious regarding this point.

Thanks for educating whoever comes by the site here, certainly if I were not already a member I would check it out based on your review! I think it is the best site available based on my prior experiences with other sites that promised more and delivered considerably less!

    • Anh Nguyen

Nice to meet you Dave. I am flattered by your comment, thank you! If I was in charge of Wealthy Affiliate, I think I would work on the design some more, and make the site more swift and sleek. I am rather inclined to user experience! I am glad you are a member of WA, I think it’s a good place for anyone planning on starting a business online.

  37. ChrisJ

Pretty good site about what WA offers. I think more personal experiences in your page would add a lot of value. The page looks a little plain for my liking. I wish there was a video as well. Overall good message and I enjoyed the page. Try to make it a little more engaging so that it makes me want to keep reading. Sometimes I thought the page was done because of some of the page layouts.

    • Anh Nguyen

Hi Chris, thank you for the feedbacks, I will be sure to take note… I am actually working on my template right now. I prefer simplicity… but yes, it might be a good idea to put more information, in the side bar for example. Cheers!

P.S. I have no idea what you meant by your last sentence though.

  38. Igor

I have seen some WA reviews so far, but yours, really stands out. I like the fact that you brought up those success stories in it. I am WA member myself and I have never seen any of those before. That was a very good idea to place those within the review. Smart.

    Thanks for the good review!

    • Anh Nguyen

Hi Igor. I hope you learnt something new from this review. I am very flattered by your words, thanks!

  39. Evie

Wealthy Affiliate is an awesome place. What really makes WA so awesome is that you can work at your own pace. Everyone has a different learning curve and I’ve met people with little experience or actually none make a great business for themselves. It’s truly a place where you can actually build a business that will last a long time. Great review.

    • Anh Nguyen

Hi Evie. I can see where you come from, I was just talking about the downside of an online education where you have to put yourself to work on your own. The upside is that you are free to go at your comfortable pace and easily reach out for help whenever you need at any stage. Cheers!

  40. Gin

I really like the level of details you provided within this post. Love the idea of including both the pros and cons too. While WA is the best learning experience I’ve had so far, it can’t ve denied that the learning curve is tough and you kinda feel left behind if you forget to reach out for help. That’s why I always remind myself to ask for helo when I’m lost.

Great review. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!

    • Anh Nguyen

      Hi Gin,

I can see where you come from. I think the issue you are talking about is something that applies to all online programs. Even if WA has facilitated the task a little by having a community and engaging owners, you really still have to make an effort to login, learn, take action and ask for help. Talking about asking for help. Do not hesitate to chat me up on my profile at WA if you need anything. All the best!

  41. Jyl

I’m with Wealthy Affiliate and I’ve got one very successful website already and I’m just working on building up a second. Anyone who’s not sure if WA is for them can just sign up for a free trial. The whole set up is great. The help and advice that you get from the community is invaluable. I do have one problem with your review… you only gave them 9.5 out of 10… tut tut… they’re at least an 11….! 🙂

    • Anh Nguyen

      Hello Jyl,

I am thrilled to hear your story… now that you say it… I really want to give WA an 11, lol.

See you around in the community.

  42. Robert

    Hi Anh,

You have given a true and honest review of WA, and I like the way you include your niggles (the things you don’t like) about it, although small – they are relevant.

I am a member and it really is the best training I have come across online to guide the user through a step by step process of building an internet business.

I enjoyed reading your review, thanks.

    • Anh Nguyen

      Nice to meet you, Rob.

I think Wealthy Affiliate is a great resource for anyone wanting to start an online business by building a website. I am glad to hear about your experience and would love to hear more from you in the community.

  43. Chris

Hey great review on WA, I have been a premium member for a little while now and this program has sincerely educated me in the field of website development and affiliate marketing.

I definitely recommend it to others who are interested in starting an online business, try the free membership first to see if it peaks you’re interest, and then move to premium member if it was you want to do.

How has your website been coming along? Are you seeing more traffic than you expected yet?

    • Anh Nguyen

      Hi Chris,

I am glad to hear about your experience! And I agree fully with your recommendations, WA is a program that is worth a try.

I am running Perkprofit for more than half a month now. The traffic is coming along regularly but I haven’t seen outstanding results as of yet. I try my best to work on the content and to get my site out there. I am actually running a marketing campaign and let’s see what happens.

Would love to share with all my visitors some inspiring results.

  44. Ken

    Hi Anh,

You’ve really gone through Wealthy Affiliate with a great deal of detail! Fine job! I’m also a premium member who started in July like you. How is your email set up? Are you using the WA mail system or are you forwarding?

Was the Gravatar process quick for you or did you go through some issues with it? You’ve given a thorough enough review of WA that a serious seeker can make an informed decision to try it out.

    • Anh Nguyen

      Nice to meet you, Ken.

I am thrilled to hear you are investing on Wealthy Affiliate. So far, it’s been the best program I found!

I am using email forwarding at the moment, the setup sounds quite complicated to me actually, ha ha. In any case believe you can have an WA email while having it forwarded at the same time. If you need help with this do submit a question. I am sure you’ll get the help you need.

Gravatar is very easy to setup, all you need to do is go to gravatar.com and upload a new image. As I see it, you are well on your way to master the art of Gravatar, lol.

      All the best.

  45. George

    Hi Anh,

Just had a go at your WA Review. What an awesome concept! It completely revolutionizes the way online business is done.

Of course, anything worthwhile takes time and effort. It is absurd to think that you will just be given the keys to the kingdom without earning them.

But as you most eloquently demonstrate, having an active and caring community makes moving forward with your business a whole lot easier.

Thank you for this informative post. I’ll make sure to come back for more!

    • Anh Nguyen

      Hi again George,

I agree with you completely and thank you for the very nice comment. I wish you all the best for WA!

I thrive provide relevant contents about the online business once a week, and will setup an email subscription soon so you will be able to keep track of Perkprofit’s posts.

  46. Shelly

I just joined Wealthy Affiliate 24 hours ago, the training inside is amazing, I am still on Bootcamp 1, my questions are answered within 5 mins tops, and that can be at anytime of the day. How long have you been a part of WA? I wished I saw this sooner.

    • Anh Nguyen

I am glad to hear that, Shelly! Remember to learn to your own pace as it could get overwhelming. How engaging and supportive Wealthy Affiliate is is what attract me to it the most.

I have been on WA since the 22 July.

I think Wealthy Affiliate can honestly help you build a business as long as you put in the work. Good luck!

  47. Hi Anh,

Well done looks like a great original walk through of the WA Product, I have yet to do mine and not sure yet how to do the snapshots or how long to expect to take. Thank you for the opportunity to walk through yours.
    Regards, Tracey.

    • Hi Tracy!

It could be tiresome to start your own blog and writing articles for sure. My first recommendation for you is not to enter the make money online niche simply because there is a bootcamp on WA. It’s important that the niche you chose is something you are interested in because you will be writing a lot about it.

Secondly, I use Lightshot to take screenshots. It’s a small and handy little program. Check it out.
Feel free to drop me your articles, would love to check them out.

  48. Hi there! I really enjoyed your review about WA. You were original and honest to point out the negative things! This brings trust to your website and a great start for success. Keep the good Job!

    Best wishes,

    • Hello Stephan,

Thank you very much for the kind comments. I see many reviews out there who seems to want to sell me something and I just don’t like them so I thrive to create honest experiences and opinions about the products I have used.
All the best to you as well.

  49. Hello Anh,
Great review. You gave your visitors a look inside WA. Good job!

    • Thanks Sharon.
The kind of review I want to see is those that allows me to see and understand a more personified experience with a product and that’s what I strive to give.
      All the best!

  50. Hi!
I have just read your post and I wanted to tell you that I joined WA 6 months agon and now, I have 4 websites, indexed by Google and a very interesting future ahead.
For me, WA is one of the most important steps in the last year.

    Great post. Cheers!

    • That sounds great! I am very glad for you. I started out recently and it has been a great ride so far. I can definitely see why WA is a big step to you, it is to me as well.
      Thank you very much.
      All the best!

  51. Anonymous

Great honest review, you work both sides of the program very well.
