CB Passive Income

CB Passive Income 3.0 Review: Is it worth your time?

This is the first make money online program I bought and I am not satisfied with it. I’ll tell you why in a bit, along with my short personal experience with the CB Passive Income version 3.0.

Website: http://cbpassiveincome30.com/
Owners: Patric Chan
Price: $1 for 14 days trial then $37/ month or $97 one-time, complicated up-sells
Overall ranking: 4.5/10

About the owner

Patric Chan is an internet marketer and speaker, author of the book WakeUp Millionaire and co-author of Clicking Cash.

The CB Passive Income is a license program which will give you a complete email marketing campaign, from the squeeze pages to attract viewers to the email follow ups once they join your site. In the emails, Patric will promote products from ClickBank, mostly the CB Passive Income using your affiliate link which will help you generate profit from the sales.

Training: In addition to this program, you will have access to videos and files to learn how to drive traffics to your page.

Tools: You will be given 4 different squeeze pages that you can choose to promote and once your subscriber buys a product from the page or emails sent, you will receive the commission.

The pros

As usual, let’s start with what I like about this program.

There is no promises of making money overnight. Patric didn’t make a hype about how much money you can make which is more genuine than a lot of programs out there which tells you about a huge sum of money in a short period of time with minimum efforts. The kind of hypes you will soon get tired of hearing.

Patric did keep his end of the deal in sending emails to my list. Of course, I was doubtful about the CB Passive Income and also want to know how the email follow ups of a professional would look like. So I signed up to my list and here are the emails I receive.

Patric email

Check the date, since I signed up on 14 July, the emails were send regularly once every 1-2 days.

The cons

Low conversion rate. Unlike Patric’s promise on his page that his pages has up to “50% conversion rate”, my experience with the CB Passive Income has not been so good.
I chose to promote one of his pages with solo ads and emailing to my small list which bought 113 unique clicks to his squeeze page.

CB Passive Income clicks

The result, only 28 people subscribed (minus me) out of those 113 targeted traffic… let’s do the math, that’s 25%. It was pretty disappointing alright.

Still, this is yet to be the most important factor, right? I mean, even if there is low email conversion rate, it would be okay they bought something from me.
Let’s see how many sales I made…

CB Passive Income lead information
You got that right, I didn’t make a single sale. As you can see they subscribed to my list since the 14 July and today is the 1st August. It’s been half a month.

So yes, despite all the emails being sent, no one was buying which makes me doubt the credentials of Patric’s method.
Then again, I need to note that I have a small list and it may have worked if you have a bigger one.
On the topic, here is what Patric estimated about the potential of the CB Passive Income (this is taken from the FAQ in the the member’s area).

CB Passive Income FAQ

Time for some math again, shall we? With my 28 subscribers. 10% click through will give me 2.8 clicks per email.
2.8 x 7 x $0.30 = $5.88 per month.
Well, I haven’t been using the CB Passive Income for a month yet. So let’s see how it goes, I will keep you updated.

I’ve read about this guy who drove 8,092 unique clicks to his CB Passive Income page and didn’t make a sale. (In his post, he also mentioned Patric sent less emails in the later months.)

The training aren’t well built. Patric didn’t just dump you with the squeeze pages to promote, he also gave you guides on how to drive traffic. And here they are.

CB Passive Income training

I don’t know about you, but I think having 3-4 links to download is pretty dull and very practical. About the contents, they are pretty lengthy so I haven’t gotten through them all.

I’ll just comment about the solo ad guide which I did read, it didn’t give me the exact information about where to find good sellers which is the most important thing, thankfully I have learnt to do that at a seminar!

To say this is a very important part of his program, Patric could have putted more works into this.

You don’t have control over your list of subscribers built within the CB Passive Income. It stays on Patric Chan’s server. In case you do want to convert it, you have to buy the Pro version which will cost another one time $97.

Given that you do convert it, they essentially did not agree to receive emails from you but Patric. So what you send will be considered more or less a spam.

The support isn’t optimized. From the training tab I showed you, you can see that there is not many supports regarding the courses itself.

There is a Contact Us button, but that is more of a troubleshooter than providing help with your marketing skills.

In my experience of contacting the team for technical support, you will have to wait half a day or more for a reply. Which is quite long for me… or is it that I am too demanding? Ha ha.

CB Passive Income supports

It has many bad third party reviews. I was new when I tried the CB Passive Income and didn’t think of checking reviews on Google. When I did, I found that most of them rated the program pretty badly and some even called it a scam. Imagine you are trying to sell a program with such bad reputations!

My recommendation

I don’t know where testimonials like these came from because I don’t see them as being very realistic.

Well, this may be an old testimonial from when people are not as wary to buying make money products or when the CB Passive Income didn’t have as many bad reviews, I presume.

I think this is not a program suitable for someone with no skills. At first, it may sound ideal to the affiliate marketing beginners because you can have someone else who is seemingly more experience do all the work for you, create your page and make the email promotions for you.

As Patric estimated himself in the FAQ of the CB Passive Income, in order to make 500$ per month, you would have to have 2,500 subscribers.
And with the low rate of conversion, it will take a lot of efforts to get there having no audience and no website.

The best method you will have to drive traffic would be buying Solo ads… and I learnt the sad truth that it’s now as cheap as you think ranging from 40-60$ for 100 clicks (I will go into details about this method in the future).
So if you do the math, you can easily see that given you choose to buy traffics like me, you will have to spend around $5,000 for the the 2,500 subscribers and that $500 per month.

It’s not easy at all.

I have talked to a more professional internet marketer about the CB Passive Income and she said she can drive her own audiences to the page and make sales as she already has the skill and had already become a figure of authority in the community.

And that may be the case, but if you are just beginning and wants to make money online with affiliate marketing, this program is not an effective start and may leave you quite disappointed.

Actually, I don’t think this program is good at all because the experts wouldn’t need it either as they would know what to do and prefer full control over their list.

I give this program a 4.5/10, it’s not a scam since in it didn’t promise you anything out of the ordinary but it’s not a good program to make money online off of either.

Instead of buying into the kind of programs that promises to do everything for you, you’re better learn the skills to become an internet marketer yourself.

Hi, this story about CB Passive Income is something new for me. Never heard about it before, so I get a lo of new information here. The way you describe it from the beginning shows that this is definitely not a scam, but what it is remains a question. About the price, $37 a month or $97 one time. So the latter looks like a good option to me. Do not know what to think about this after all. Thank you in any case.

    • Anh Nguyen

I am glad you learn something new from this post, Jovo! I’ve learnt a deal after CB Passive Income and writting this so now I’d say it’s not a good idea to buy into anything that gives you premade marketing strategies.

For CB Passive Income, your only way to profit would be to promote the product itself through its’ landing pages and as the internet move forward, those landing pages become quite obsolete and I doubt anyone takes may make a purchase from someone they barely know when they can find better information else where without having to give your email away. An example for this is in Riaz’s article, where he drove 8,092 clicks to the page without making a single sale.

      I hope this helps!

Well it doesn’t seem as effective as some other options out there but at least there is a really cheap trial price for once ( makes a change from the more scam based options! ). I also like the way he doesn’t push on you that you’ll make money – there are no promises within his spell – if you know what I mean?

    • Anh Nguyen

I see what you mean, Chris. Even if it’s not the best offer, it offers a cheap starting price and isn’t as hype. It’s probably the reason why I gave it a try in the first place. Cheers!

Hi Anh, very interesting and up to the point review about CB Passive Income 3.0. I can really see why with the experience you had with it, you are not recommending it.

I personally seen other programs with email marketing like this and now I am a little more scared and careful about what I would send to a list of people out there risking to be consider as spam by them. Wouldn’t do any good to my business and my name.

And when it comes to buying a program like that and looking at what other people are saying about it in forums after you bought and see that they have nothing good to say about it… you don’t really feel like promoting it anymore… I’ve been there too!

Anyway, thanks for your honest overview of this program. I really enjoyed reading it.

    • Anh Nguyen

Nice to meet you, Guy. I am glad you enjoyed reading this article and can relate to your experience. On a brighter note, it’s good that you have been through these and know better. All the best!

  4. Ron Pettengill

Interesting article Anh, very thorough. I have seen this advertised and it does look very legit. I have seen sites similar to this where they don’t promise mega-money but they lure you in with a free or cheap trial offer. Then you find out that you have to upgrade to even start seeing any money. Or it is so much work for very little results. thanks for the heads-up.

    • Anh Nguyen

Yes, Ron. Unfortunately, there are so many of such products out there.

You can actually try the full CB Passive Income for $1… but I don’t recommend that either. It’s better to really learn about the business and not use these ready-built programs.

      All the best.

    Hi Anh,

I find that in order to get what you want out of life, you have to work for it, nothing get handed to you on a silver platter. So If you want to succeed online you have to work, build up your business with a solid foundation.

So, this kind of program CB passive income 3.0 sounds fishy to me because of the word passive, which imply easy that you don’t have to work to make money!

Also, I find the testimonials odd, maybe the owner wrote it himself and posted a picture of one of his friends to make it more credible!

Are you cancelled your membership to the CB Passive Income 3.0, since you don’t recommend it to anyone?

    • Anh Nguyen

      Hello Sonia,

I agree with you, life is much better if you choose to take action and do what you need to do to achieve your dreams.

Testimonials are a great way to improve your credibility but at the same time, you are not sure whether they are real or not. Even if it’s a video testimonial, unfortunately.

I have cancelled my membership with the CB Passive Income, of course! Thankfully I bought the trial for $1. I mentioned seeing how my campaign with the program goes because I find I can still access my account and receive emails from Patric. Although nothing is for sure, I’ll just leave it at that as long as I don’t have to pay for it anymore, heh.

  6. Shivaram

I read your article about the Passive Income 3.0. Your article is very clear and detailed. You have explained well and covered all the required details. The two things that you have done well is to explain clearly about what you like and what you didn’t like. Unlike other websites which offer only a bullet form- you have described in detail which makes you stand unique among the crowd.

    • Anh Nguyen

Shivaram, that’s very nice of you to say.

I see a lot of advertising reviews out there and I would like to make more honest ones without being too prone in calling out a “scam”, but a personal and in-depth experience with a product. Which is the kind of review I am looking for.

Great website you have made. Such informative content you have. I really like how you’ve designed your site. It is easy to navigate. Also, the format of your site is nice and easy to read. I will be bookmarking your site to refer back to for future cases. Best wishes to you in your future endeavors.

    • Anh Nguyen

It’s always good to hear from you, Stephen. All the best!

  8. Edy

    Hello there,

Thanks for reviewing CB Passive Income 3.0!

I personally had run through this program before, and I know this product is very bad. Patric Chan is not a real mentor when it comes to internet marketing. He is manipulating newbies to send traffic to his OWN offer. So, basically we are employed to send him $100 for just $1. Besides, the training is poor-rated. Just my opinion. 🙂

    • Anh Nguyen

Sounds like you had bad experiences with this program as well, Edy. I can understand that, Patric is a little more into making money for himself and drive traffics to his offer than worrying about the quality of his program. I think it would have been fine if his products has better conversion rate since we can still leverage on the commissions.

I hope you have found better programs to join.

      All the best!
