Wow there are plenty of sites out there that are prepared to help you with your blog. That is reassuring. I had no idea that there were so many! I am a bit sceptical about paying for any service like this however. Also with SEMRush it says it check a low word count under 2,000 words. Does a bog have to be over 2,000 words? My blog updates are usually 500-600 words long. Is that not adequate? Thanks for the review. At this stage I will stay with google analytics but I will know where to come if I want to upgrade in the future…

    • Anh Nguyen

Ben, while not always the case, higher word count posts are proven to rank higher on search engines. It’s best to focus on improving your blog first before jumping into high-end SEO tools like SEMRush. 🙂

  2. Janelle

I’ve been growing my SEO knowledge for a couple of years now and used some of the tools listed here.

I am often surprised at how many corporate giants don’t know what’s going on with their websites… as you mentioned here ‘62% of companies confessed they didn’t have the much-needed analysts to make sense of their data,’ .

I have dealt with some who don’t realise that their site is not mobile responsive even though their customers are 35 and under.

Its exciting times, employment wise, for people with Internet marketing skills and reporting tools to prove your methods work.

    Good info, thanks.

    Hi Anh Nguyen,

Thanks for the sharing. I will try HubSpot and Upcity SEO. Based on your review, I think these two shall suit my blog, especially it doesn’t cost anything to start. What you can’t measure, you can’t manage and thus you can’t control. That is my belief even in online business and blogs when traffic is a key criteria to success.

    • Anh Nguyen

      Nicely said, Kenny. 🙂

  4. Michel

SEMrush looks great. I especially like the duplicate content tool, which must be handy to have for any blogger.

I normally use HubSpot as they are free, and some of these tools can get a little pricey if you are paying for them monthly. Although as I can see from your post, you definitely get what you pay for in most cases.

    • Anh Nguyen

Michel, it does take a lot to pull out the more detailed information. I’d recommend you stick with free options until you can scale your business big enough to sustain more high-end tools. 🙂

  5. Jeremy

It can definitely be a pain to manually look up every little detail about your sites rank in google analytics. How comfortable are you with Hubspot? I’ve heard a lot about it but the reason I ask is because I noticed it’s free.

Is there any differential in the free SEO reporting tools vs. the paid monthly SEO reporting tools?

    • Anh Nguyen

Jeremy, most of HubSpot’s services aren’t free but they do offer a simple SEO reporting tool. I find it to be quite helpful from time to time to check for errors or issues you may be missing out on as a blogger.

There is a lot of difference from free to paid tools, of course. Paid tools have more resources to invest on their feature hence you can do a much more in-depth analysis with them. And because these information is so valuable to SEO, they become pretty high-end products!

  6. Nate

    Hi Anh,

This is an extremely useful post! I’ve been looking for free ways for a while to try and track my SEO progression and looks as thought between the websites you have listed I will be able to achieve that!

I’ve added your site to my favorites and will definitely be checking it out for future regarding any other posts like this.

It is extremely useful for anyone starting out in blogging/ affiliate marketing.

    • Anh Nguyen

Nate, aww thanks so much! I’m glad you learned something from the post, I’d recommend trying SEOprofiler as well. While it’s free features doesn’t allow for SEO analysis, it helps you track basic backlinks to your site. 🙂

  7. Sangeeta

Hi there, great information about SEO Reporting Tools. I am sure, it is going to help those who have site and want the have better optimization.

Currently I have a website and am using SEOprofiler and Whats My SERP and I found both of them are quite easy to access and help me to know the status of my site.

    • Anh Nguyen

Sangeeta, I’m also using SEOprofiler at the moment. I’ve never heard of Whats My SERP though, I’ll be sure to check it out. 🙂

  8. Lena

The info on this post is exactly what I need! I need to choose one reporting tool for my website and your review is great! Some of these tools are very costly and some are free so I am not sure if the free ones are a good way to go. I also don’t want to spend $100 per month… yet… maybe one day. I will mostly like give a try to HubSpot… Thank you!

    • Anh Nguyen

Lena, I’m glad I can help! It’s definitively better to start small, you should only invest on high-profile tools once you are making enough income to sustain their monthly cost.
